Grieved Spirit

Brothers and sisters, you are to put on the new man in Jesus Christ. This means you must put away lying from your lips. Speak the truth in love. If you are angry, put away your anger every evening before you go to bed. Do this through repentance and forgiveness. Don’t refuse to put away your anger and thus give place to the devil. Don’t steal, anywhere, anytime, from your spouse, your parents, your siblings, your employer. Don’t say worthless things about or to people, but rather, speak those things that are good, wholesome, encouraging and edifying. Don’t be bitter, or full of vengeance, or angry, or full of complaining and grumbling. All of these things grieve the Holy Spirit.
But rather, be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.  Be followers of God, as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved you, and has given himself for you as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor.

Be like that. Be a sweetsmelling savor. Be like Jesus.
